Trade show jitters….

Four weeks left until the great spring trade show!! Oh my.

The Crafter has been soaping at a furious pace. Insane really. Soap bars are everywhere. Piles, rows, and stacks of them all over the house now. My, how good it smell though.

The new business cards and banner are ordered (under our ‘Naked North’ division). A rough idea of the setup is underway. But there are oodles of product yet to package and gift boxes yet to order. So another busy weekend lies ahead. The hubby is waaayyy up North again for a couple weeks. Maybe the kids could help (roflol)?!!

Aside from the fabulous divided mould recently aquired, the Crafter treated herself to a ‘soapy’ birthday present in the form of a new log cutter!! It came from another lovely soaper and her hubby who designed and constructed it.  It is just gorgeous. How divine to have perfectly symmetrical cuts again and again (and the bars are thicker now too)!!!

Some ‘Power Suit’ on the log cutter.

Here is a great batch with the intoxicating scent of dragon’s blood (think incense). They always look so rich when first poured. The soap will darken to a nice brown in time though. Still. It is just so pretty!

On another note, the Crafter has also been out on the ice, trying to catch enough wind to keep the kite up and strap on the board. The ice road is holding up but they say it will close early next week.  Bwaaaaaah.

If you have never stood on a clear frozen lake and looked into the ice, you should seek out the opportunity.  Like the flames in a fire, it is an absorbing and wondrous thing. The cracks and the bubbles frozen in place are simply beautiful. Here are a couple of shots to give you an idea:

Five feet deep. No worries about the cracks!
