Wow, what a dash to the finish of 2010!
Every single bar of soap was out the workshop door a week before Christmas and the Crafter poured candles until just a few days before. On one hand, she feels bad about selling out of soaps.; on the other what an awesome bunch of customers! Needless to say, new candles are being poured and soaps are back on the curing rack so no one will suffer without for long. Oh, and the spring scents will be on their way soon…. Yay.
Frankly, the Crafter’s entire holiday was made a little more crazy by the decision to get on with the fireplace makeover. What were we thinking? Yet, the end result (let’s call it ‘phase I’) was well worth the effort:
From this (uggh, brass)….
to this (…bliss).
The Crafter is particularly proud of the barn beam mantle she built (and dh fastened on so incredibly securely) . This was an interpretation of Ana White’s plan (she is such an inspiration and her plans are fool-proof):
There is still some finishing work to be done (clean up fireplace front, trim, etc…), and then there is new carpet and wall colour (phase II and III).
Despite the craziness, it was still a festive time in the Crafter’s household. Lots of outdoor time and a Christmas feast with friends. Small things, but great joys.

We hope your holidays brought you great joy too. And may you find balance and humour throughout 2011!
