But it’s barely even December yet, you exclaim! …Yes, but, the Crafter thought she’d get a jump on the season with a re-release of last year’s popular holiday soap ‘Grab Your Snowballs’
I truly love this soap, so silky and smooth and hard and a fantastic scent: really fresh and outdoorsy with a subtle hit of fir and musk. We are seriously considering keeping it around for the Snow King carnival here in March. It simply screams “giant ice castle on a frozen lake“!!
Things are slowing down here. With the hubby away so much for the past six months, the Crafter simply let the holiday craft-sale season get away from her, and as a result has not a single show to attend. Ooops…. On the other hand, there will be time to do some long awaited experimenting…. So many soaps floating around the brain that need to get in to a mold….
Soaps waiting to get out the door.
Winter, though expected, arrived so much earlier than the Crafter is used to. There is very little shoulder season here in the North. The temperatures hovers in the autumn range for about two weeks, leaves drop within days, the animals scurry for their burrows and then the temperature plummets… BAM! There has been snow on the ground since mid October which is lovely, but it is hard to keep in mind we haven’t even hit the solstice yet! In addition, we are down to six hours of daylight or so (which truly isn’t near as difficult to deal with as the continual summer light).
Oh, but there has been some excellent time spent in loooooong hot showers with some sugar scrubs. The Crafter is over the moon with three new slathers….
How does hot Pumpkin Cheesecake without the caloric guilt sound? Seriously, you almost want to lick your fingers; it is that good. Lovely little pumpkin bits in it too.
Not too floral, but distinctly feminine: Calabrian Bergamot and Violet. Sprinkled in there are some glorious clay beads for more gentle scrubbiness.
Beyond description: Tibetan Black Tea. Just. Wow.
My poor dessicated skin is soooooo happy. Our indoor humidity is running around 20% with the fire going (even with the humidifier)…. Uggh. The Crafter is thinking a nice powerful foot cream is also on the horizon.
But first, it is time to get those holiday decorations out from under the house….
